DESCRIPTION

The helix sits in the secondary clutch and applies pressure to the CVT drive belt.

• Two helix types: straight (constant angle) and progressive (two cuts for different shift points).
• Helix angle alters belt pressure and shift behavior.
• An overly aggressive helix angle without secondary spring adjustment can cause belt slip.
• If rpms are too low: a shallower-range helix and/or a stiffer secondary spring raises rpm and increases belt squeeze.
• If rpms are too high: a steeper-range helix and/or a softer secondary spring lowers rpm.
